Tours to Greece from Chisinau — Last-Minute Deals

From Chisinau there are direct flights to Greece's two most popular islands, Crete and Rhodes: the flight takes roughly two hours, and the swimming season lasts from late May to October. Greece belongs to the Schengen area: travel on a biometric passport, and expect to be registered in the new EES system the first time you cross the border.

Where to Fly from Chisinau

• Rhodes. The medieval Old Town of the Knights of St John, Lindos with its acropolis above the sea, and beaches on two seas: the calm Mediterranean in the east and the windy Aegean in the west. From here it is easy to take a day ferry to Marmaris in Turkey.
• Other destinations. Corfu, Zakynthos, Halkidiki and Athens are usually reached from Chisinau with a connection; a manager will tell you which options exist for your dates.

Flight and Transfer

A flight to Crete lands in Heraklion (HER) after about 2 hours 15 minutes, and one to Rhodes (RHO) in under two hours. From Heraklion airport, Hersonissos and Malia are a 30–40-minute ride, about 90 minutes to Rethymno and over two hours to Chania. On Rhodes, Faliraki is some twenty minutes away and Lindos about an hour.

Season and Weather

Greek beaches open for swimming in late May and stay that way into October. The sea is warmest in August and September, while June and September are handy because the heat is milder and there are fewer holidaymakers. In July and August the northerly meltemi wind blows over the Aegean: it cools things down but whips up waves on Crete's northern beaches.

Hotels and Prices

Greece has many small family-run hotels with breakfast, while large all-inclusive resorts are concentrated mainly on Crete and Rhodes. Documents and Entry Rules

• Biometric passport. Ukrainians may spend up to 90 days in any 180-day period in Schengen countries without a visa, provided the passport stays valid for at least three months after you leave the EU.
• EES system. Since April 2026 electronic entry registration has been running at Schengen's external borders: on your first crossing, your passport is scanned, fingerprints are taken and a photo is made. It is free, but in season the queue at passport control can be longer than usual.
• ETIAS, the electronic travel authorisation, is not required yet; the EU will announce the launch date in advance.
• Tour documents. Policy, voucher and tickets arrive by email before departure; at the border you may be asked to show your hotel booking and return ticket.
• Border. Find out beforehand which wartime departure rules apply to men eligible for call-up and to under-18s.
