There are currently no direct flights from Ukrainian airports, so tours to Egypt start at the nearest airports in neighbouring countries:

• Rzeszow, Katowice, Warsaw, Poznan (Poland) — convenient from western Ukraine, with many flights to Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh;
• Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara (Romania) — for travellers crossing the Romanian border;
• Kosice and Bratislava (Slovakia) — convenient from Zakarpattia;
• Prague, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn — for Ukrainians currently living in the EU.

Travellers get to the departure airport by train, bus or car. The flight to Egypt itself takes about 3.5–4.5 hours. In the search, choose your departure city: the price for the same hotel can differ noticeably between airports.

The price depends on the season, departure airport, meal plan and the hotel's distance from the beach. It is usually cheapest in Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada and more expensive in El Gouna and Sahl Hasheesh, where new 5* hotels prevail.

Hurghada can be windy in winter, so for December–February it is better to choose the sheltered bays of Sharm El Sheikh. With small children, the sandy entry into the sea in Hurghada, Makadi Bay or Sahl Hasheesh is more convenient. Divers and those looking for peace and quiet head to Marsa Alam, where the reefs are the least crowded.

Last-Minute Tours to Egypt: How to Find a Good Deal

A last-minute tour is a package departing in the next few days that the tour operator discounts to fill free seats on the plane and rooms in the hotel. It costs less than a regular tour, but the choice of hotels and dates is limited. To avoid overpaying:

• Search with flexible dates: ±2–3 days around your preferred date and 6–9 nights.
• Compare several departure airports: Chisinau, Rzeszow, Katowice, Warsaw.
• Keep your documents ready: your passport must be valid for at least another 6 months.
• Catch the off-season: most last-minute deals appear from mid-January to mid-February, from late November to early December, and in summer.
• Don't wait for last-minute deals over the holidays: tours for New Year and the May holidays sell out in advance, so early booking is the better choice.
• Check what the price includes: the meal plan and getting to the departure airport.

If your dates are fixed (holidays, school breaks, a scheduled vacation), compare a last-minute tour with early booking: the choice of hotels is much wider.

Egypt Visa and Documents for Ukrainian Citizens

• An international passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
• A 30-day tourist visa: online (e-Visa at visa2egypt.gov.eg) or at the airport on arrival. A visa on arrival costs USD 30; it is easiest to pay in US dollars cash.
• Sinai Only stamp: if you are staying only in Sinai (Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Taba, Nuweiba) for up to 15 days, you do not need a visa. With this stamp you cannot go on excursions to Cairo or Luxor.
• Migration card: issued on the plane or at the airport.
• Medical insurance is usually included in the tour; you can extend it if needed.
• Children travel with their own international passport. Check the current rules for leaving Ukraine under martial law on the website of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine or with our agency's managers.
