Sharm el Sheikh - Royal Gulf of world importance

Sharm el Sheikh Royal GulfThis resort is located on the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula. The cheapness of land and the presence of the Red Sea, one of the cleanest in the world, have led to the fact that in 20 years more than 70 high-class hotels of various well-known world chains have appeared on the once deserted coast. And Sharm el-Sheikh itself has become a world-class resort. The tourist zone stretches for 35 kilometers. It is divided into several parts, which we mentally go through. The northernmost zone is called Ras Nus Rani. It is adjacent to the international airport, where tens of thousands of vacationers are delivered by planes from many countries all year round. Including from our country. In general, this part of Sharm does not have a special tourist infrastructure, but even here you can have a good rest in the hotels Le Meridien, Coral Beach Montazar, Four Seasons, Movenpick, etc. However, most tourists prefer the neighboring area - Naama Bay. More than half of the Sharm hotels are located here and the most convenient beaches for swimming are sandy, with a convenient entrance to the sea and without coral reefs that have been cleared for a long time. Along the entire beach of Naama Bay, a “promenade” stretches for 3 km - a pedestrian street lined with cafes, restaurants, bars, shops and discos.

In the southern part of Naama Bay, shopping and entertainment establishments are concentrated, thanks to which Sharm is famous for its vibrant nightlife. And it is also in Naama Bay that it is best to exchange “full-weighted” dollars for the local currency - Egyptian pounds. It is only recommended to do this in the morning from Sunday to Thursday. Friday is a holiday for Muslims. And Saturday is "indefinite". A duty-free shop, where foreigners can make purchases within a day after entering Egypt, is also located in Naama Bay. And here, in the evening and at night, the most popular discos operate - "Salka" and "Crazy Daisy". And at some hotels there are casinos, visited mainly by our compatriots. By the way, ours are very fond of visiting all kinds of restaurants. Among them, a good fish one can be noted - "Sinai Star" and the restaurant "Onions", offering Egyptian cuisine. The Sharm Holiday Hotel has a very good Thai restaurant, and the Ghazala Hotel has an oriental Tamtam restaurant.

The southernmost area of the resort is Ras Um Sid. Here hotels began to be built not so long ago. However, their level is quite high. It is not without pleasure that our guests stop at the most expensive and prestigious ones: Hilton Waterfalls, Ritz Carlton, Iberotel Grand Charm, etc. And in the same area, opposite the Dreams Beach Hotel, the Thousand and One theme park is being built. night". From the hotels in this area there is a regular minibus service from Naama Bay. As a rule, hotels provide guests with "shuttle buses" for free. In some cases, the trip costs 4-5 pounds (about $1). A taxi ride will cost almost $10.

Of course, lovers of a relaxing beach holiday fly to Sharm El Sheikh. Although interesting excursions are also offered here. And of course everyone is interested in what the local beaches are like. They are beautiful, and are conventionally divided into sand and coral, requiring special equipment for swimming. On such beaches, pontoons or bulk platforms are installed, allowing bathers to get into the sea, bypassing the coral thickets. By the way, corals are the national treasure of the country. Their collection, sale and export outside of Egypt is strictly prohibited. The fine for attempting to export corals can reach several thousand pounds. In new promising resort areas (Hadaba - in Shark Bay and El Maya) the beaches are coral. Hotels here are forbidden to clean the bottom of corals, which start almost from the water's edge and stretch for 15-30 meters. This is of course inconvenient for swimmers. But it brings joy to lovers of underwater flora and fauna. Outlandish colorful fish and bizarre corals can be seen right under your feet. But it is better to use fins and a mask with a snorkel - no special skill is needed here. Better yet, take a few lessons in any diving center, dive deeper with scuba gear. This is where the amazing underwater world of the Red Sea opens up! Deep-sea diving can be practiced everywhere: from the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, Cape Ras Mohammed, to the Gulf of Tiran. Vacationers are offered sea excursions with scuba diving opportunities. The most popular excursion is to Ras Mohammed National Marine Reserve.
